50 years

西サハラのポリサリオ戦線が誕生してから、今日で50年が経ちます。
西サハラに暮らしてきた住民の大半はサハラーウィです。その西サハラ住民を代表する唯一の組織として、ポリサリオ戦線は国連に認められた存在です。
ポリサリオ戦線最大の武器は、彼ら自身の存在と主張の正当性にあると、取材を通して私は感じてきました。西サハラ問題そのものは複雑ではありません。歴史と事実と現状が人びとのなかで正確に共有されることが、西サハラ問題解決の要のひとつです。
西サハラでの解放闘争が50年経っても終わらない背景には、日本の関わりも大いにあります。
私たちの日常と西サハラは、どなたにとっても、すでに密接につながっています。

Today, 50 years has passed since Polisario Front in Western Sahara was established.
Most of the resident in WS are Sahrawi people. United Nation recognize Polisario as the only organization which represents the residents in WS.
The strongest arms of Polisario is the legitimacy of their own existence and assertion. I felt so through my coverage. WS issue itself is simple. One of the important points for the solution is sharing history, facts and current situation correctly.
There is Japan’s involvement in the background to the 50-year-long liberation struggle in Western Sahara. Our daily lives and WS issues are already closely linked.
